How to play
Everything you need for your first match. It takes about two minutes to read and about twelve to play.
1. Join the server
- Launch Minecraft Java Edition 26.2.
- Open Multiplayer → Add Server and paste the address below.
- Join, then type
/play(or use the hub menu) to choose a map and queue. - Optional: accept the resource pack when asked. It adds the minimap and custom icons. Without it,
/minimapgives you a map item instead.
2. How a match works
When enough players are queued a countdown starts, and it speeds up once the lobby is nearly full. Everyone mounts a Phantom that flies straight across the map. Press Jump or Sneak to jump off whenever you like. You fall slowly and get a few seconds of damage immunity when you land (watch for the particle ring).
You start with a basic leather and wood kit. From there it's loot, upgrade and outlast: the last player (or team) alive wins.
3. Star crates
★☆☆☆☆ to ★★★★★
Every crate shows its tier above it. More stars mean better loot: 1★ crates have basics, 5★ crates can hold diamonds and high-level books. Crate quality also rises as the match goes on.
OP crates and vanish-on-close
OP crates restock at every loot phase, so they're worth revisiting. A crate disappears when you close it, so grab everything useful the first time. Everyone looking at a crate shares the same inventory.
4. Supply drops
Supply drops fall throughout the match. You can spot them by a beam of light (blue for common, gold for rare) and a waypoint on your locator bar. Late in the match they land inside the next zone, pulling everyone toward the fight.
- Common drops always contain an upgrade for whoever opens them, picked from their current gear, plus utility items.
- Rare drops are announced to the whole server and hold strong books, diamonds and a pearl or totem.
- Opening one takes a 3 second channel. Taking damage cancels it, so check your surroundings first.
5. Drag-and-drop upgrades
There are no anvils or enchanting tables in matches. Instead, open your inventory, pick up an upgrade item and drop it onto the armour or weapon you want to improve. Hover over any ingot, diamond or book to see exactly what it will do.
| Drag this | What it does |
|---|---|
| Iron ingot | Leather or wood → iron. One ingot per piece. |
| Diamond | Iron → diamond. Keeps the enchantments you already have. |
| Enchanted book | Adds or raises an enchantment: Protection, Sharpness, Fire Aspect, Feather Falling, Unbreaking, Mending and more. |
Gear has durability, so Unbreaking and Mending books matter, and XP bottles show up in loot. Bows are disabled. Some items are capped per player: 6 ender pearls (20 s cooldown), 1 totem, 24 wind charges, 64 cobwebs.
6. The zone
The world border shrinks in stages. Your sidebar and the boss bar show the time until the next shrink, and you get a warning title before each one. Standing outside the border damages you every second. The final zone is small enough that the last few players have to fight.
7. Parties and teams
Solo is the main queue. Some maps also run team modes: create a party with /party invite <name>, and when the party leader queues, the whole party joins together, on the same team, with no friendly fire. Teaming up with strangers in solo is against the rules.
8. Levels, coins and the battle pass
Every match gives account XP and coins, whether you win or not. XP raises your level (shown in chat and tab) and fills the free Season 1 battle pass. Coins buy cosmetics in the shop. Nothing you earn or unlock changes combat.
| Action | XP |
|---|---|
| Playing a match | 20 |
| Each kill | 25 |
| Each crate opened (first 20) | 2 |
| Each supply drop opened (first 10) | 5 |
| Top half of the lobby | 15 |
| Top 3 (4+ players) | 30 |
| Winning | 100 |
9. Tips for your first wins
- Drop near a cluster of crates rather than straight under the Phantom's path, where everyone lands.
- Get to full iron first. It's the biggest jump in survivability.
- Rare supply drops attract everyone. Be ready for a fight or let others fight over it first.
- Carry cobwebs and a water bucket. They win more late-game fights than an extra Sharpness level.
- Move with the zone early. Running from the border with half health loses matches.
